Stucco is a beautiful, durable exterior finish, but it isn't invincible. Like all finishes, it loses it's good looks with normal wear and tear. You could have it redashed(adding a layer of stucco to the existing surface), but a cheaper, easier solution is to paint it!
Like all exterior projects the first and most important step is careful prep work. We begin with a full power wash. After the house had ample time to dry(2 days), we masked the brick and the windows. This house is had beautiful flowers and bushes in the landscaping surrounding the house so we were extra careful moving around the property.
Stucco is a porous, textured surface, so the paint application required special attention. As the sprayer moved along the walls we "back rolled" the paint. Using 3/4 inch naps we pushed the paint into the grooves of this porous surface to ensure proper coverage. For the garage doors we used a bonding primer before applying the paint. On this house we used "Emerald Rain Refresh". Emerald Rain Refresh is an ultra durable exterior coating with Self-Cleaning Technology. It's formulated so dirt washes away upon contact with rain or water for a clean, fresh look with minimal maintenance. The crew worked together as a team from start to finish and were thrilled with the final result!
